Hi everyone, I just put together a new system... I used an ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard, 2.83GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Core Processor, EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB Graphics Card, and 4 Gigs DDR2 1066 Ram. I'm interested in tweaking / overclocking, but it's not something I've ever attempted before and don't want to do any damage to my computer. There's an 'Extreme Tweaker' menu under Bios, but I don't really understand any of the options under it. Any help would be appreciated!

you can google 'rampage overclock bios setup'
anyway.. I'm using a q6600 (2.4ghz, clock 266) OC to 3.6 config so here goes:
FSB N/B strap - 333 (suppose to be 266 - but this sped things up for my RAM)
FSB - 450
Multiplier - 9
PCI-E CLK - 105
RAM speed - 1081

leave all at default, go to ram timing:
5-5-5-15 - the rest default

go to voltage control
CPU VTT - 1.45 (this will be too high for you, make small increments and test stability)
CPU PLL - 1.52
N/B - 1.32
DIMM - 2.14
FSB voltage - I can't remember... it was .20 volts from default
S/B - default
another 2 options below this - I left it at 67% (can't remember what it was)

*** that is what I've changed only - note: this will not apply to your cpu as you're using a 45nm, it should be slightly lower. You can start from default and increase the voltage from its menu - 1 increment at a time.

If you have problems going into the OS - either your cpu voltage is too low or your N/B is too low. N/B controlls your ram so you will need to see if its CPU related or memory related.

Once you got that done, test prime95 see if any core fails. If it does, then increase the voltage again.. and retest.
