I've decided to buy a GTX 970 for my new PC but i can't decide between windforce or g1 gaming. Are there any performance differences or cooling differences betweeenn the two? The g1 gaming costs slightly more than the windforce and i am wondering whether or not it is worth to spend the extra money on a g1 gaming.

Unfortunately I don't have an air conditioner in my room and the average temperature is 35C-40C so will the g1 gaming be better in terms of cooling?

Thank you in advance.

The G1 Gaming cost more due to it being slightly more OC'ed than the windforce card. Other than that, the 2 card have basically the same cooler on it and you'd be better much of getting the windforce edition and then OC-ing it to the G1 clock speed.

But will it be safe to overclock it if the temperature is high around 35C-40C?

That temperature range is not high. I have my cards sitting at around 40 when I'm not gaming and at around 60-70 depending on the game I'm currently running. You can OC that card no problem. Just try to stay within the 80C mark when your card is under load after OC.

Not the same actually. The GPU cores are selected by Gigabyte's GPU Gauntlet process to specifically pair silicon with better OC potential with the higher end cards.

However, this is only important is you are an avid overclocker and really want to push the card.

If you just want a good card and don't plan to OC much, the Windforce version will be just fine, has the same great cooler on it, and save you a little money.
