Question Need help removing an app/software that wont go away.

I had a zip file I couldn't remember the password to, so I tried to get a zip password recovery software. I have since deleted the software as I was able to find the password, but every time I start my computer I get a pop up in the bottom right of my screen saying update is ready from the zip recovery software. Does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of this without having to do a fresh install of windows? I have tried deleting the folder in AppData that the pop up is associated with (If I click update it asks me for permission for the app to make changes and I found where it was on my computer from there) Yet when I restart my computer its back again. Help would be appreciated.

Did you 'delete' the application, or did you Uninstall it?
There's a difference.

What was the exact software? There's a lot of dodgy software with malware/viruses made to look like legit software, especially in an area in which legality is a bit of a gray matter.

I do not see the program when i go to control panel and uninstall programs so I'm not sure how to "uninstall" it

Did it need 'installing'? Or was it just a standalone executable you run?
