Need help understanding diff of OS

Hello,
What is the difference between "Microsoft Windows OS" and "Genuine Windows OS"
or are they the same and advertised differently by the company selling the computers?
The companies are Gateway and HP.
The OS in both are Windows7.

Genuine Windows OS = Legit copy not pirated.
Microsoft Windows OS= Windows 7,Vista, XP,2000 etc.

Then, it would be safe to buy either one of these? I wouldn't run into any problems with upgrades downloads? They are both at Staples and I just want to get a computer that will work well for the kids.

As long as they are from an authorized Microsoft Partner,which HP and Gateway are.

Don't buy from auction or bidding sites.
