Hi!
here is my spec

Processor: Intel Core i5-9400F
Motherboard : MSI B365M PRO VDH
Socket: LGA 1151 V2
RAM : 16GB (2X8GB) 2666mhz
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 960 OC 4GB
PSU: Corsair CX 550W 80 plus Bronze
Storage: 2TB Internal HDD

i'm upgrading my monitor to 24inch ips panel with 144hz refresh rate, i wanted to upgrade my GPU so it adequately support the 144hz refresh rate.
i'm gonna use it mainly for adobe program, and gaming.

i'm thinking of RX 5700 but if there's cheaper or better alternative that offer better or same performance that would be great.
my budget is around $400.

any help is appreciated, thank you!

Solution
The rtx 2070 (discontinued) was the nvidia equivalent of the 5700xt, so IF you can find one on ebay for that price or less, you will be decent. It's been superceded by the 2070 Super, for @ $550. And that's both new and used pricing. (welcome to covid shipping, supply and demand). The best you might do would be a 2060 Super, which tend to run @ $100 cheaper. ($400-$500 eBay used/refurb or $399 at newegg).

The 5700xt is better than the 2060 super, but comes at a cost of needing a beefier psu, and there's always the potential driver issues.

You'll only get 144fps usage out of the monitor with Adobe if the source material is that fps. If it's rendered at 60fps for quality purposes, that's all you'll get regardless of your monitor refresh.

ok thank you for the advice and reccomendation.
price are indeed higher this year, really hard to find anything at the normal prices.

my only hope is that i can find a 3rd party seller that sells at less price.

i only use the 144hz refresh rate for gaming, i have the cheap crappy 60hz monitor one it doesn't feels good using it i'm gonna replace this monitor regardless for future proof.

A 2060 can do it, a 5700xt (if it works) will do it better, but as to whether or not you can get there is all upto the cpu. That's what's sets fps in the beginning, and you could pair yours with a 2080ti and still not get beyond refresh. If the game code only allows for 50fps, gpu won't matter, you only get 50fps. You'll just be able to do it at ultra settings with hair works and Ray tracing all enabled etc.

is 9400f is a enough cpu for RX 5700? if i had to upgrade which one would be the best value to performance? i don't have a lot of budget left to upgrade another component as i had to buy another psu, and i rather not replacing my motherboard for another cpu.
