My system consists of a x570 Asus Dark Hero MB with a Ryzen 5800x3d, 64gb ram and a 3090. I've been running a 4 monitor setup for the last 8 years in total. The initial setup was just 4 cheap 1080p's That I've slowly upgraded over the last few years. The initial 4 were Samsung 24" VA 60hz curved "CF390's". I first added an MSI 30" UW IPS 200hz "MAG301RF", The next addition was up to an Acer Predator x34 180hz IPS UWQUD "Sbmiiphzx". The next upgrade was to an Samsung 32" Odyssey neo-G8 4k UHD 240hz.
However, when I added the Neo-G8 I had disconnected all the monitors and started with the Neo-G8 which I had set to 240hz, then the Acer x34, then MSI, and finally the Samsung CF390. The first 3 showed pictures flawlessly but the CF390 wouldn't. After many hours of messing with everything I remembered that I had to use the Neo-G8s manual menu functions to set it to 240hz and I went in and changed it down to 120hz. After setting that 120hz the 4th monitor started working. So for reference the Neo-G8 is at 120hz as my main monitor. The Acer x34, MSI, and CF390 are all set to 60hz and works. I can even raise the x34 and MSI up to their max of 180 & 200hz and the system works fine. I just can not raise the Neo-G8 higher or it cuts video to the 4th monitor.
That was my initial issue or problem per say. But the system was back to showing 4 monitors. However fast forward a month and I just didn't like gaming on the Neo-G8. I just prefer the 21x9 format vs the 16x9. So I ordered a new version of the X34, it is the OLED version that just came out this year. it has the 800R curce 240hz with a built in KVM switch. When I replaced the Neo-G8 with it. The same thing happened, the video to the 4th monitor cut out again and in the display settings It shows a small box for the monitor but wont allow me to interact with it at all. The first thing that I tried was to adjust the Hz on the new and it didn't matter what I set it at the 4th just wouldn't work. I got all new cables rated for 8k 60hz/4k 120hz for all the monitors, swapped out 3 different sets and that didn't help. tried using 2 different display port splitters to see if that would help. a 1 in 2 out and a 1 in 3 out both powered splitters. For now I have hooked to neo-g8 back into the system. The goal atm is to get the new Acer x34 OLED into the system with 4 monitors if anyone could help me. that would be greatly appreciated.
