Well, hello, sorry if my English is bad. So here's the thing, a few days ago, my friend asked me to do some maintenance stuff for his laptop, when I switch to speed mode using the stamina/speed switcher, the screen shows many white strips from the bios until it shut itself down just more than 4 mins after boot. I've cleaned it inside out, applied the thermal paste as required, checked all the connectors and cables then reinstalled OS(XP MCE) and drivers but it's still the same. I know when the switch is set to speed, an dedicated graphic card is used. By the way, it's not bios issue 'cause I've flashed it and is up to date and I think it might came from the NVidia card. The machine is a 2006 Sony VAIO VGN-SZ340P. Specs: processor: Intel C2D at 1.86mhz, memory: 1gb, integrated graphic: GMA950(stamina mode), dedicated graphic: NVidia GeForce 7400(speed mode). Here's a pic:
Anyone who know please tell me the reason of the problem and the solution. Thanks
