i just got my AIW radeon and a new msi k7t turbo mb(kt-133a chipset). i am running 3dmark at 1024*728*32 and am getting a score of around 2700. shouldn't a radeon be able to do more than that? also i am running a duron at 866 (133x6.5) and have 256mb pc-133 cas 2 ecc memory from crucial. any sugestion on how to get my score up? i am running win2k pro with sp 1 and direct x 8. i dl the new specialty drivers from ati that have dx8 support. other than what i am getting in 3dmark the card seems to run great especially in video editing and dvd watching :).

Thanks,

I've have the RAGEON 64 MB DDR and your poor performance is most likely due to Win2k. From what i've read and seen ATI's Win2k drivers are really bad, until the drivers have matured I suggest you change your OS. If you really need to have win2k running then look into have a Dual Boot managaer and then using ME or 98SE for your Gaming OS!

Yeah what Makevia said. WIN98SE is by far the fastest gameing OS out right now, for windows anyway.

Someday I will stop asking all the questions!

Compare at Madonion. Plus look here http://www.tech-report.com/reviews/2001q1/radeon/. Good review on the Radeon. Although the All In Wonder is not as fast. Although it should be better than that.

head on over to anandtech.com, and you'll find a big review on the radeon vs gforce2 compared in win98 and w2k- to sum it up, the drivers suck for the radeon in 2k

Clarify, Direct3d in W2k suck about 60% of Win9x, OpenGL flys and is a little bit better than win9x, 2d is spectacular, DVD works great, Video In works (but with excessive CPU usage), drivers are stable. AIW Radeon owners will soon be able to download the official MMC 7.1 for W2k/Win9x which should correct some of the problems. I have a Radeon 64 ViVo Retail for about 6 months now and have been using the Radeon on W2k and win98se/WinMe for 6 months.
