This build is over 11 years old. Updating it for my husband
I have my own Rig that holds up pretty well with its 1080 Classified, but his needs some love. It can't handle much at all even on low settings anymore, and It almost constantly closes out of games randomly (I determined it has to be the MB)

>>My budget is $2000<<<, I may be able to push that a bit more.

Looking for a new GPU, MB and Monitor. These must be replaced.
Maybe a new Case, CPU, Power supply. Willing to get new ones if needed. Just explain why please.

About the monitor: The monitor should pair perfectly with the GPU. I've done research on 4k, it seems overrated and I can't tell the difference anyway. too expensive as well.
For my build, I have an Asus ROG Swift PG278Q. I liked the features the most. Ego. Gsync. The Screen it's self was something special, I liked it for some reason...
It's pretty perfect tbh, I may just get one for this upgrade.
1. Thoughts?

RAM not needed

Goals: I want to save money when possible. I want the system to handle anything today and for the next 5-10 years.
I'm not looking to be on the Bleeding Edge when it comes to new parts. Reliability and Performance and then Quality. This rig should play any games today on the high settings and with no issues running smooth.

So If someone can be so kind enough to help guide us and give their time; to make sure the parts will work correctly and give us recommendations, we can get the ball rolling.
Thank you! <3

Alright I'am currently right now getting the MB ready and putting on the cou fan cooler after locking the cpu in place. When I get the little two hatched clipped in, I'll try to lock it with the lever, but it feels like there a lot of tension, I'm afraid I'll break the plastic lever, and i'm worried about putting so much pressure on the cpu. When it's left unlocked, it feels like It'll hold...
Advice?

Any tips would be appreciated

Not sure why it's doing this, but we can't get to 165hz. may need to try a display port cable?

I try the Display Port, and there is no signal.
I tried to make sure the connection was good.
only seems to work with the hdmi.

Going to create a new post for this issue, thanks for your help.
