Hello all! (This is my first post on Tomshardware so let me know if I'm posting in the wrong place.)
Okay...so I have an HP Compaq dc7800 Small Form Factor computer. I plan on using if for gaming and right now I am trying to figure out what graphics card to use.
The problem is with the motherboard though. It supports PCIx1 PCIEx1 and PCIEx16. To my understanding, the former two (PCIx1 and PCIEx1) are not good choices for gaming. The PCIEx16 is--however, on the motherboard it says "ADD2 support only."
I've been doing a lot of research and I cannot seem to find a graphics card with ADD2 support. Intel supposedly made this type of port (ADD2/SDVO) so that a monitor and television can run at the same time (or something along those lines).
So...does it seem I won't be able to use a card in this slot? If so, I could use one in the PCIEx1 slot, but I know the performance would be drastically reduced. Any suggestions on what I should do would be greatly appreciated.
