Hello, new member here! First thread!
I have been researching for weeks now and I have these components for my hardcore gaming desktop. I am asking you guys to consider this list and see any imperfections here. My budget is about $3000 and since this is a lot I want a super duper gaming rig for the money. Since I have been researching a lot, I think this is pretty much a perfect build. Then again, there are more experienced people here and maybe they could suggest some tweaks.

I strongly believe that my version is better in a lot of ways.

You chose wrong ram. Ddr2 but now is ddr3 for the new computers. Your psu is good. Your CPU is old generation, I made a better suggestion with the i5 for gaming, a lot of i7 features will not be used in gaming, so it's a waste of money, if u still wish to go with the i7 then go with ivy bridge (3rd gen).

You don't need a sound card, the asus motherboard that I put in already comes with premium sound.

Why you putting such expensive and large items in a mid tower case, you are gonna go through hell wiring and maintaining the machine, I put I a full tower case as a demo but you can choose a nicer one at ur store, I bought cooler master TROOPER, it's really cool.

You also...

You also chose a hard drive with slow spin speed which will slow down your system. Because even though ur computer would be able to process the info had cant feed it fast enough, I suggested a 256gb solid state drive (sad) and a secondary 10,000 rpm 1tb hard drive for the space :)

The one under name of "premium computer is for you"

The keyboard/mouse and monitor up to you, just make sure they have good reviews
