Need help with explorer

When shutting down the computer as message comes up that says "explore.exe is not responding. We have windows xp installed.

To help us assist you, please provide more information:

1) Decribe the issue you are having in detail. For example if its with a specific piece of equipment, include the make and model.
2) When was it last working normally? Since then, did you add/remove any software or hardware?
3) What steps have you already tried to resolve the problem? (rebooted, searched google, etc)

Run System File Checker from command prompt and have your Windows CD ready to insert: sfc /scannow

After trying different solutions provided by google, I found one that worked. I cannot tell which one but when I turned on the computer the next time it no longer comes up on the screen. I went through about four or five ideas from the google search. Thanks for your concern. Denny at Thunder Lake Realty
