Question Need help with getting 144hz to work on BenQ Zowie XL2411

I bought a new PC about two weeks ago (the GPU only supports HDMI and Displayport) and today I got a Displayport - DVI Dual Link adapter to get 144hz. One problem though, I can't change the refresh rate at all. I can't even lower it. The adapter says it supports 1080p@144hz, it's also active and has Dual Link DVI. Is there a solution or will I have to just get a new monitor?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Make and model of the GPU you're working with? Link to the adapter that you're working with?
My GPU is a HP 3060 Ti (maybe a bit overkill for 1080p, but I was planning to buy a new monitor a bit later) The adapter link:

Unfortunately it is in finnish, I'm not sure if you can just translate the website.

That is not a real dual-link DVI adapter. Please see section 0 in the pinned thread: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/how-to-connect-to-a-120-hz-display.3268285/
