Hey Everyone,
It's been awhile since I have gone looking for a new GPU, and lately they have been coming out with so many different versions I am getting confused. I am currently on a ATI Radeon HD 6770 1GB by XFX. This was an RMA upgrade from 5770 that crapped out. My old system before had an Nvidia 8800 GTS 768MB by MSI. I was looking to build a new system in the near future that will have PCI-E 3.0. I was curious on what card will be a good fix for my need. I don't build a new system every year so the GPU needs to be somewhat "future proof" even thought I know that can't really be possible. So far I have seen the AMD/ATI 7700, 7800, and 7900 all come out and once, and also what are the major differences in the xx50, xx70, and xx90 cards. The same goes for Nvidia and the 500 and 600 series cards.
Thanks,
