I am using Microsoft's Backup utility and have two questions.
First, I would like to backup my My Documents folder and am trying to decide
whether to include these directories:
C:\Documents and Settings\Drew Neilson\My Documents\filelib
- I think this has to do with AOL IM, because a folder inside of it has
the same name as my AOL IM screen
name.
C:\Documents and Settings\Drew Neilson\My Documents\My Deliveries
C:\Documents and Settings\Drew Neilson\My Documents\My Received Files
- I am assuming "My Received Files" has something to do with Windows
Messenger and/or Office XP.
Files sent to me from other users on the Internet via Windows Messenger
or Office XP probably are
automatically downloaded into this folder by default, no?
Second, as I said earlier I have Office XP and also MS Money 2004. I want
the My Documents folder, my Money information, and my Outlook information
backed up automatically--weekly. I can plainly see that Backup can do this
automatically with My Documents, but I do not know how to get these results
with Outlook (SP3) or Money.
If Backup automatically takes care of Outlook and Money data, then I'd be
all set.
If not,...
- I'd configure Outlook to weekly backup to a .pst file inside My
Documents, which would be subsequently
backed up by Backup.
- If Outlook cannot do it automatically, every week I'd have to
manually save a .pst file inside My
Documents, which would then be backed up automatically by Backup.
- The same situation and choices would exist for Money.
Thanks again everyone, all the imput on maintenance utilities is really
helpful.
