need help

I just got my athlon 1800+ system i installed windows xp, after about 2 hours of running windows has slowed down. when you turn on the computer windows comes up but it takes forever for it to load compleatly, (sorry for spelling) i have all the extra stuff turned off to see if it will load quicker but no go what should i do besides tell bill gates to [-peep-] off,lol
