Need instructions for spliting power from a 6 pin PCIE to 4 pin molex.

sorry rangers already bought the card and have the connectors on the way! all i need to know now is ;

1 : will my heath robinson idea of having an external PSU (with all the right connectors) just to power the card actually work ?

2 : or can i get a sata to molex connector to power the card?
