Tired of my connections constantly dropping from an old DNS and a broken router. Need something thats fast, has a long range, can handle 5 devices at once and is secure. Connection speeds is 50/25 mbps with a possible bump in the future.

Solution
I can't see you will have any issues with this. It will likely exceed your 75m internet connection.

Just as a point of information. 1200 means 300m on 2.4g and 867m on 5g running 802.11ac. It will run 300m 5g if it must run 802.11n. This is because this device only has 2 internal antenna. Now don't let that bother you a lot in theory adding the third antenna increases he speed by 150m but in real life tests it only increases is a very small amount. All these numbers are theoretical things anyway that nobody get anywhere even close to.

I hope it works a pipe burst in my house right above the damn box, they had to come out and fix it. With my luck the ethernet would be fried or im zapped connecting the cable lol

Well well it looks like my router is already using ethernet. Last question should I go with the nighthawk with 3 antennas or the nighthawk x6 with 6 of them? What would be best since I have so many devices connected at once? Laptop, desktop, 2 smartphones, tablet, MAC connected by ethernet.

That is a hard call since it depends on how many device you have that can support 802.11ac. The router is only half the equation you nics must match. Then the nics must have 3 antenna to take advantage. If the nic only has 2 then the router will only use 2 to talk to it.

The 6 antenna things is best looked at as 2 802.11ac routers in one box. It run 2 separate 5g signals so it can spread the load over more channels.

It does have a advantage when you have lots of device on the 5g band.

The one thing I can promise is your neighbors will hate you. That router will use 2/3 of the 2.4g band (all 802.11n router do that though) Plus it will use 8 of the total 9 channels on the 5g range. This also means you are almost guaranteed to compete with neighbors for radio bandwidth.

If you live way out away from everyone it will work great.

Homes in my neighborhood are separated by about 20 feet so yea we will be competing.

yea im aware but i want great coverage since i have so many devices running at the same time and spread out through out the house. Setup now is annoying with the daily drops and weak signal in parts of my house.

I have Verizon FiOS.
You need the Quantum Gateway router. I got one a couple months ago. $100, split over 3 monthly payments,a dded directly to your bill.

They forced me to have it. Will try to get it to work without it, dont see why nto and just ship it back

What specific router do you currently have from Verizon?

the red ver I which I cant stand. Constantly needs to be reset when I have multiple devices running.

By specific, I meant model number, not color.
The ActionTec MI424WR router pretty much stinks. This is why I recommended changing to the Quantum Gateway router. I did a couple of months ago, and the difference was pretty large.

I currently have this Actiontec MI424WR Rev. I and they sent me the quantum gateway but i think its a rental. Just went ahead and bought my own nighthawk x6. Might test the gateway or keep it as a backup.
