So I'm not going for anything too fancy here: 1080p gaming at 60fps on a single screen without overclocking. I'm looking to play games like Skyrim, Tomb Raider, Far Cry 3, and whatever goodies go into Steam Sales and Humble Bundles. Will this build do all of that alright? Anything I should change?

Looks good, but I don't think you would really need an SSD unless you really want to, it'll be saving you a lot and you can use the money to upgrade your system further. Just my opinion though. =)

You could probably get a better video card for the price instead of spending it on an ssd but now that I think about it, the r9 290 is a big jump up in price from the 280 and so is a gtx 780 so I'm not entirely sure. By the way, if you're gaming the ssd won't affect fps, just speed, boot and load times, but I maen if you already have 16gb of RAM I wouldn't worry about an SSD.

Yeah, those cards are much steeper in cost and they seem a bit like overkill for what I need. Then again, I'm adding an SSD as well, but it's not nearly as steep a cost. Hopefully it'll help out w/ system cleanup and the like. Thanks for the advice.
