Need recommendations for an AMD 970 - 990FX board

I have a relatively new Phenom II X6 1055 and I want to put it to some use. I have everything else needed (case, PSU, cooler, you name it). I want to get the 970 or 990FX to be able to handle newer CPUs like the Phenom II and FX, and future CPUs as well. I've been looking at Gigabyte since I've been really impressed with the Intel board I have, I'm open to trying Asrock, and have not had a lot of good luck with MSI or Asus.

I also need compatible RAM as well.

This Asrock board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157281 may work fine for you. It has the 90 degree sata ports (most of these 990fx boards do), so before mounting it in the case, install the sata cables and leave them loose on the board. Otherwise, you may not be able to reach them and they can break off, so handle with care. For ram, I use corsair, gskill, kingston, and patriot. I wouldn't pay over $45 for 8 gb; I got my gskill 16 gb for $70 recently at newegg.

I've been looking at that same board actually, and I really want one with a good UEFI BIOS, so I'll keep this one at the top of my list for now.

What voltage of RAM does it take though? I was looking at Asrock's website and it listed 1.65 and 1.5 as being compatible, but given my past luck with memory and AMD motherboards I want to be absolutely certain before I buy.

Yeah I was just reading that same article, unfortunately it's not influencing my decision as most are way out of my price range...

Gskill, patriot, kingston, or corsair all work fine. You may have to set the speed manually, but that's true for many boards and takes about two minutes. The only boards cheaper than asrock are foxconn and biostar, which I use.

It's not the speed I'm worried about - it's the voltage. If I'm going to be using this motherboard for OC'ing purposes I want to make absolutely sure it can handle it without frying the RAM or anything else.
