My employer provides me with a laptop for my job. I currently have a Microsoft Surface. Total garbage. 1GHz processor, 8GB of RAM, etc. It literally takes up to 2 min to transfer a file to my desktop. Way overdue for an upgrade. My manager said to pick one out on Bestbuy. I am sure they wouldn't care if I bought one on Amazon either. This is going to be for the most basic tasks but I would like the screen on the large side and to have an actual numerical keypad.
1. What is your budget? Paid for by employer but I'm sure they don't want to pay more than they have to.
2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? The bigger the screen the better.
3. What screen resolution do you want? 1080P is fine.
4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Portable
5. How much battery life do you need? Doesn't matter
6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? NO
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) Microsoft Teams meetings.
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Probably don't need more than 500GB
9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Best Buy or Amazon
10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? NA, employer will buy new one if it becomes obsolete
11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? None
12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. Don't really care what brand but would prefer not to have too much pre installed crap. Our IT guy will set up the VPN and security stuff.
