Need some help amd or intel build

I went originally in selecting the parts the intel route and here is the total build, was suppose to be a budget build and it turned into this. I dont really per say have a budget, but I would like to get it cheaper if I can. I have just heard that AMDs run hot, and are obsolute to the intels which give me a futureproof quality. Just wondering based on my needs and the type of games I am playing which is primarily the F2P market competitively (so doesnt have to be ultra settings)

I am primarily going to be playing F2P games like BlackLight, Alliance of Valiant arms, might venture into BF3 and COD but seems unlikely.

Also would be recording game play, editing in Cinema4D, Adobe, Vegas and than hi-def rendering to put on youtube. Also was thinking of starting up photography, and than video editing would come into play.


So what do you think? Should I go over to the AMD route (in which I would switch to the AMD phenom II 965 and Asus sabretooth for the mobo) and keep everything else.

Help would be appreciated. I am a Senior in University and all that was said above is just stuff I do for fun/hobby, beats jerking off all day.

Do you think I should skim down somewhere, maybe shave some money of the mobo or downgrade the processor? Since I am trying to save as much money as I can.

Get an ASRock Z77 extreme4 mobo full ATX to save some money on that + get a 500 gig driv, TB is crazy. i've had the laptop im on atm for 3 years and i've used 90 gigs.

also your ram is high for that size, make sure its clocked at 1600 MHZ or else it'll fry your cpu.

It will run at the default of 1600 (Ivy Bridge memory controller) unless you over clock the CPU. First time I've heard of ram burning out a CPU...not sure if I believe that.

I swithced to the 1600 because it will run the 1800 at default anyway, saved 10 dollars.

then why not built a non-k system since your only gonna be playing online games and not tend to OC. then you'll save enough money

I swapped the processor to a I5-3470 (saved 35) and switched to a giga- H77 (saved 40) also the hd 7850 dropped in prices to 180 (so saved another 10)

so far 100 dollars in savings

see the effect? hehe.. thats how you'll save money. its not just because they have $10 difference. But ill agree if the he wants to OC, then i'd certainly recommend the same instead of getting the non-k version. Peace ^^,
