Hey first time posting here. Ive had several problems and i've tried numerous solutions to no avail.

It started with a surge that i thought only knocked out the HDD, i replaced it with a new HDD and a SSD. This is where one problem was solved but a few more popped up, i hooked up the new SSD and HDD, but then my computer would take a while to boot up and would randomly power down and restart, what i thought the problem was the CPU overheating so i cleaned it and re-placed the cooling unit. I also ran memtest no errors.

After all that when i finally turned it on again i got a “Power supply surges detected during the previous power on ASUS Anti-surge was triggered to protect system from unstable power supply unit” After discussing this with some friends i decided to get a new power supply.

I fitted the new power supply. Now the latest problem is when booting up the monitors receive signal up to the point of the welcome screen where both of my monitors get “no signal available” and both my keyboard and mouse turn off, ive tried resetting bios, nothing happened. I tried moving my RAM around booting them individually, no difference.

So now my biggest worry is the motherboard has had it. Does anyone know what might be wrong, before i dip into my wallet for a new motherboard.

Specs before the surge.
AMD FX-6100 3.30 GHz
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
4 x 2GB Ram
700W PSU
AMD R9 270X
1TB HDD

After surge
Samsung 250GB SSD (new)
1TB WD HDD (new)
CX750M PSU (new)
AMD FX-6100 3.30 GHz
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
4 x 2GB Ram

Thanks for reading!

When you say surge i suppose you mean power surge, and when you say welcome screen, i suppose you mean the OS's welcome screen? If the signal goes out when in the OS's welcome screen, try reinstalling. If the motherboard was damaged, i doubt it would be working at all.
