Build:
MOBO: ASROCK 650bm Lightning WIFI
CPU: 9800x3d
GPU: 4070 Super
RAM: G.Skill X5 series 32GB (2 x16)
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GF A3 850w
The PC had been working fine two months. I come home and the PC is not showing display. I assume as usual it is in sleep mode. However it does not come on and I notice top two red lights (DRAM and CPU) are on. Rebooting shows no post. System powers on but no bios and red lights still on.
Steps I have taken:
Installed new PSU.
Tried multiple setups for the two RAM dimms to include A1 and B1 or A2 and B2. I also tested each RAM module individually.
I tried disconnecting SATA SSDs. Though I never removed the one NVME now that I think about it.
Clear CMOS (more below)
The thing is if I use a screwdriver to short pins for CMOS CLR I can get into bios one time. That is how I can tell that all my components are recognized. However I no longer get boot drive options in bios. Using legacy CSM UEFI…nothing shows a boot drive. I had been using CSM disabled with legacy options. Not sure where the issue is. I can get into bios if I do CMOS clear with pins but then I cant get a bootable drive option and when exiting the PC locks up with DRAM and CPU lights on. And to get back in I need to clear CMOS again. Initially after clearing CMOS the PC will boot into bios showing no DRAM or CPU lights. But then when I exit bios I get black screen with DRAM and CPU red lights again.
If anyone knows what might be the problem I would greatly appreciate it. Feels like it is the mobo or bios that is goofed up after sleep mode. But the problem is persistent and is making me hate this mobo.
Many thanks fir any replies.
