Hello, I'm looking to build a new pc thats geared towards streaming and video editing, gaming is secondary (or tertiary if you wanna look at it that way). My main issue is that I'm not sure what motherboard to get so I decided to go with the one in my list below. As for the CPU, I settled for the i7 12700k as I found after a lot of looking around that it apparently does everything I want and more when it comes to the editing and streaming. is this a good choice or is there a better option for the cpu? Here is my build below from PCPP, I do realize there is no GPU in that list, and the reason that is, is because I am looking to purchase an Nvidia 50 series card which I believe is coming around this fall or next winter/spring. I went with the fans and cpu cooler because it matches the case and I think itd look nice aesthetically, that said it probably may not be ideal, could probably find something as good or better for less, would appreciate any insight on this. Thank you for any and all feedback and advice.
My budget is around $3k

1707 dollars.

Is that a hard line in the sand?

Would you absolutely refuse to spend another, say, 100? Not a recommendation; I'm just trying to find out where you would balk.

What is your strongest reason for choosing a 240 dollar liquid cooler?

If you need a certain number of a particular type of USB port, that should be revealed in the specification sheet of any motherboard candidate.

Any particular reason for those specific 6 fans at 28 dollars each? Do you have reason to believe 6 would cool better than 3 or 4?

I guess I didnt clarify it in the original post but my budget for this build is around $3k, so got a little wiggle room.
My only reason for choosing the $240 liquid cooler is because it matches with the case, no other reason other than aesthetics and after looking around, hearing that that is a good cooler.
Lastly, my reason for those fans is that it matches the water cooler along with the case, probably not a very good reason to decide on those fans but I did. No, I don't have reason to believe that more fans would cool better than 3 or 4. Honestly I think the difference in temps from 6+ fans as opposed to 3 or 4 is more or less neglible, if anything, probably just means more dust flying around.

Your first post says "I'm looking to build a new PC".

But I notice it is in the "Prebuilt and Enterprise" section.

So I assume you are not going to build at all....you are going to buy a pre-built.

Please clarify.

Is aesthetics at least as important to you as functionality....as a general rule?

Most here would try to talk you out of a pre-built from Cyberpower or iBuypower...mostly because of limited choices in the parts. Particularly power supply and cooling.

But if you are locked into those brands for whatever reason, so be it.

If you can spend 3000, I'd certainly think you could do better even if you want a pre-built. But at 1700 or 2000, maybe not much better. I have NO idea what choices might be available to you in a pre-built.

I certainly would not leap in with 6 fans at 28 each. And I certainly would not use a liquid cooler on a 12700K. But maybe you have little choice given your builder?

Even if you refuse to build it yourself.....you'd likely be better off buying 1500 dollars worth of parts and paying somebody 200 or 300 to put the parts together. Do you have access to a Microcenter??

hm perhaps I did post in the wrong section, I was entirely planning on building it from scratch. I generally am not a fan of buying prebuilt pc's. my apologies for causing confusion. I will just post in the individual parts of the forum

I just realized that I didnt mention the reason behind the motherboard choice. I went with the initial asus motherboard because I did need a lot of usb slots in the back and also wanted it to be ddr5 compatible. That being said this motherboard you selected seems to fit that bill, minus a couple usb slots but this is still good i think.
out of curiosity, is there a reason you selected a sata ssd over the 4tb hdd?

If you swap a few parts here and there (especially the fans), you can get 14700k, wifi 7 mobo and 4tb SSD for the same price:

wow that is a complete rearrange from what I put together, very interesting.

Made an effort to have the same feature set or extra in the components I chose.

The CPU is an upgrade, AIO has LCD display, mobo has the same number of USB ports and wifi 7 with ARGB

pcie 5.0 and 4.0 SSDs, similar looking case with ARGB

The only compromise I made is with the fans. No side facing LEDs.
