Basically it's like this I bought everything I needed for a pc outside the gpu which I intended and am still planning on buying my next paycheck which isn't until the 18th of May. But I'd prefer to know if everything works and have my OS installed prior to the 18th. The mobo (Msi z170a - pro) Doesn't have an HDMI, Vga or display port to hook into but does have type c. So I went to best buy and figured I could buy a type c to hdmi adapter.. and still no display. Please help :/

Solution
Well, once your GPU arrives you won't need the video ports on the motherboard, unless the GPU goes bad in the future and you needed to use the internal graphics on the CPU temporarily. I don't know how long it would take for you to return the motherboard and get the SLI PLUS, so I would probably just keep the one you have and wait for the GPU.
Is this your model as it says it has DP?
Onboard Graphics

• 1 x DisplayPort, supports a maximum resolution of 4096x2304@60Hz, 2560x1600@60Hz, 3840x2160@60Hz, 1920x1200@60Hz
• 1 x DVI-D port, support a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60Hz
• 1 x VGA port, support a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60Hz

or do you have another model again? MSI have too many in some familes... the gaming pro has HDMI & DP as well. Is this as SLI board built for sli or something as some of those don't have onboard?

Either way, if you right, I think its likely a driver issue as to why adapter doesn't fix it. Without having a spare GPU to drop in, its hard/impossible to install windows without a GPU

Return the motherboard then as suggested.
I don't think adapters will work as it require usb type c to support Alt Mode which probably is not supported on most motherboards.

I have an i5-6500 So it has Intel HD 530 onboard. Now here in two weeks I'll be purchasing my gpu.. Should I hold out til then or replace?

Yeah that was my plan. It seems like everything is running properly. The cpu and dram indicators are lighting up. The fans run, but will have to wait to install Windows.
