I have a MSI HD7870 GPU and I need to buy a new power supply unit for my PC because my old one is crapping out on me. I know this GPU has 2 of the 6-pin inputs for the power on it. What do I need to search for on Ebay to make sure I get the correct PSU? Or could someone link me to one on Ebay? Looking to spend $40 at most.

Its a custom build. Asus motherboard, AMD Cpu. Not sure the exact Cpu but its a quad core. The whole thing is about 4 years old. I use it for gaming, although it cant run the newest stuff that great anymore. 16 Gb ram. Hope that is enough info.

Is there a cheaper one you would recommend?

Only rated for 30°C which almost always means cheap capacitors. I personally wouldn't touch it with a 10ft pole.

No i need model numbers to calculate power usage. Also still need a location(what country you are in) as prices and availability vary greatly between regions.

Please don't recommend garbage. Raidmax PSUs have a very bad reputation for a reason, AKA they are junk and known system killers. Even that thermaltake is mediocre at best. The PSU is bad place skimp as it can literally ruin the entire system,

Do you see his budget? It's very hard to get what he NEEDS for what he wants to spend. He is going to get what he pays for.

I would rather tell someone to save up for something better than recommend something potentially dangerous. If you are going to recommend garbage atleast warn them about it.

The 520W Seasonic S12ii is $43(only $3 over budget) and is a good unit. This is assuming the OP is in the US. For all we know the OP is in Canada, Australia, Philippines or any other country that uses the $ currency symbol.

I am in the USA. It is a FX-4200 cpu. Im not sure on the exact number of the Motherboard but its a 24 pin ASUS AMD motherboard, about 4 years old. I found that Seasonic one you mentioned for $43 US but its used. Not sure if I want used.

Thank you! I think I found one, just hard to find in the specs sometimes if they actually have 2 of the 6 pin connectors. If it says 6+2 pci does that mean it has 2- 6 pins, or 1- 6 pin plus 2 more pins?

I bought the EVGA 450w from Newegg. $39.99 brand new. Perfect!! Thanks for your help!!
