Netgear N600 wireless adapter lag spikes

Lately I have been getting short bursts of ping spikes every 10 seconds in games like CS:GO. The ping spikes from say 40 (where it should be) to 100 for only a split second, every 10 seconds or so. It actually happens so fast it is almost playable... almost. I have pretty much isolated the problem to this adapter. It is only on this computer and only on this adapter. I tried antother adapter on this computer and it worked flawlessly. I have the latest drivers and have even tried looking for old ones, but couldn't find anything. I have messed around with various settings in the products networking client as well as installing just the standalone drivers sans client. I have no idea where to go from here. I only got this adapter a couple of weeks ago.

ended up returning that piece of junk and got a linksys ae3000 for some price, works perfectly
