Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 R7000 Slow Download Speed Good upload speed

My nighthawk worked great for about 3 months and recently my download speeds have completely dropped off to about 5mbps. It is not my modem I get 100mbps when hardwired to it. My upload speed hasn't dropped at all. I have read through forums, but I still haven't found a solution. PLEASE HELP!

Make sure you are running the latest firmware.

Are you connecting via 2.4 or 5 Ghz? Run inSSIDer and look for wireless interference from nearby networks.

Thank you for your advice... I'm connected via 2.4 and on a channel with no other devices with firmware up to date. I've done a hard reset twice now and it has done nothing.

I am thinking that your 2.4 GHz radio is having the issue. Try connecting via the 5 GHz network, and seeing if the download speeds are better.

You may need to RMA the router.

5 GHz was no better I guess I will have to take it back to best buy and get a new one. Thank you for the info.

Don't get a new one of these they are garbage. Get a totally different brand. It took me 4 of these to realize it.
