On my XP home system Netscape starts up automatically every time I boot. I
don't want this to happen and can't figure out how to turn it off. It is not in
my STARTUP folder.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Uninstall Netscape and use Firefox.

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for

Or, if that is not an option for you..
Run MSCONFIG and locate where the startup is placed (Registry, etc) and
remove appropriately.

Do you have 'Quick Launch' on? If I remember right is wasn't an obvious
menu in Netscape, you had to go to Start/Programs/Netscape and it was
listed along with Netscape Navigator, Mail, etc. Find it and click on it
and then set it to *not* run on computer startup. The idea was to have
Netscape load into memory when you started the computer so it would be
instantly available when needed, even faster than Internet Explorer.
When I was using Netscape I always found it pain and never even
installed it once I discovered what it was. By the way Netscape is just
a version of Mozilla now, sometimes an older version with less features.
