Network card protocols

I am using this website to educate me about network cards:

It talks about 802.11a, 802.11g, etc.

But when I go to pcpartpicker, it says 802.11a/b/g/n, a/b/g/n/ac, etc. That article doesn't talk about those! please help.

huh? those are right in the title of your article. they are clearly talked about. Those are just standards that the card supports

So a/b/g/n/ac means 802.11a/c, right?
