New $1000 Gaming PC, How does it look?

Hi Guys,

I'm helping a friend build his first desktop. I've built computers before, so no issues there, but I'm not an expert on hardware. Here is the info.

Approximate Purchase Date: Right away.
Budget Range: As close to $1000+/- as possible.
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Music Production.
Are you buying a monitor: No.
Do you need to buy OS: No.

Overclocking: No.
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe.

This is what I've been able to look at so far. Please by all means, make suggestions. He'd like a a gaming PC that can cut through modern games such as MW3, Battlefield 3, Diablo III, etc. He also produces a lot of music, so I'm hoping the z77 will be able to support audio by itself.

Get a better mobo, get the asus P8Z77-V LK, if you want to do latter a SLI/Crossfire setup (that one also does crosfire but at 16x 4x from the south bridge/chipset, the LK supports SLI and Crossfire dual mode 8x 8x), also get the hyper evo 212 evo cooler, with the money saved, get a 670 gtx or 7970.

That power supply is overkill. Get a power supply between 500 - 650w. Also, no point in getting liquid cooling if your not planning to overclock. With the money saved you should be able to upgrade to a GTX 670, or a Radeon HD 7970. Other than that, your build is good.

If you are not overclocking, why waste money on a K cpu and a high end AIO liquid cooler? Get an i5-3470, an H77 motherboard and if you're like me who hate the stock intel coolers, get something cheap like the CM Hyper TX3 (optional). The money you save here can also be spent on a 120GB SSD

The PSU is a bit overkill though not a bad choice if you're planing on crossfire. For 2 cards, you don't need more than 650W now but the TX750 is a good choice as well, so no need to change. Everything else seems fine.
