Hi all,

I have the Gateway DX4870-UB20P desktop computer.

core i3 2120
128gb ssd
6Gb ddr3 memory

I've installed the evga 750ti 2gb into my desktop, but it won't boot past the bios screen.

I've searched a bit, and some threads say to disable secure boot. This doesn't work for me, as the PC was shipped with Windows 7 and doesn't have a UEFI bios.

Is there any way to override the bios so I can use this GPU or am I SOL?

Thanks for the help.

Either the GPU is not supported by the BIOS, in which case there is nothing to do about it, or the 300W PSU you have are not up for the job. Even that 300W should be enough for that card, it's likely a crap quality PSU that cannot supply what it is rated for.

Thanks, that's unfortunate. At the minimum cost possible, do I just buy a UEFI motherboard with the same socket for my CPU and transplant everything onto the new board? Is that possible?
