New Budget Office Build Help + Transferring OS and MS Office

Hey Everyone,

Currently running an FX-6300 with R9 290 rig, but I'm thinking about selling it and building an office PC since I don't have much time for gaming any more. I have a couple questions and would greatly appreciate the help.

- I have my OS on an SSD and Microsoft Office on an HDD. Am I able to simply wipe/format the drives and reuse the keys that I had before on the new pc?

- I also need some build help. What would be a solid but cheap office build? I would like to go as small as possible also. I was thinking an AMD APU build, but not sure if that's the cheapest way to go. This would be used only for internet, word processing, watching videos, music, etc, no gaming.

Just a quick question, would you not rather just remove the ssd and hdd and use them in your new build?

Since you will be changing motherboard, you will need a new copy of Windows. I am not sure about MS Office.

I would go with an AMD APU build, excellent value for this kind of computer.

MiniITX is more expensive than mATX, but if you want that smaller form factor, this is what I would go with:

Stu95: On second thought, that does seem like the best option. But would I still need a new copy of Windows like Tranmaniacon said since the mobo will be changed? I actually did upgrade my mobo before and didn't have to reinstall windows, so not sure if that would be necessary this time around as well.

You need a new copy if you had an OEM version of Windows. With a full version you can use that on a new machine.
