[SOLVED] New Build 4K editing/Gaming

I am looking to build a new system, as my last build was in 2012. looking for $1K range, assuming I can use PS listed below, it is old not sure of compatibility issues as I haven't kept up with latest components.
Have monitor, keyboard, windows 10, (2) 512G SSD- Crucial CT512MX and ADATA SU800 512 as well as Hitachi SATA 1 TB HD. I have OS running on the Crucial, ADATA empty and SATA HD files, etc. Planned to use ADATA to run Davinci Resolve and save some files there, but most to 1 TB for now.
Current PS is very old, not sure if it will still be compatible.

I have used an earlier response to start and wonder if it is reasonable to use the old PS?

Let me know if this is reasonable for compatibility. I believe at this time it would run around $1100.

I'm generally taking 4k and outputting at 1080. Haven't even installed Davinci yet, been using Shortcut. My gaming is minimal, and my current system does what I need so I would think this would do that plus a bunch more.
Currently running a phenom 2 965 BE with 8GB Ram and GTX 1050 ti.
Does that make sense? I'm not planning on making more than 20-30 min videos. Hope this is the info your looking for?

I think I misinterpreted your question, gaming will not be required 4K. Would rather fun 1080 at higher FPS and my monitor isnt 4K at this time anyhow.

If you are looking to edit 4K Video, you should be good with the parts you have selected.

It is old and only 80+, for a system of that tier, I suggest upgrading to a 650 watt 80+ gold unit.

Thanks for the list, does anyone think I should look at getting a single fan water cooled setup, there is a spot in the case. Was looking at Corsair h60.

120/140mm AIOs are overpriced compared to air coolers.

I have read that the stock Ryzen cooler works rather well. Is this what I should stick with and skip the aio cooler? Or are there better air coolers I should look at? Not planning on constant heavy loading.

Give it a chance. You'll either love it, or hate it. If the latter happens, then replace it.

Oh! Just a heads up, because this has been catching many people by surprise, but these Ryzen 3000 cpus are very 'bursty' at low loads.
You will notice higher idle temps than what you're used to. That is normal for these chips. It will be FREQUENTLY waking up and putting to sleep cores as it needs them.
It would be a good idea to set a custom fan curve in the bios.
