I'm going to buy a new PC my old PC with a gtx 1060 and i5 6500 was stuttering and had drops all the time no matter what game i played so i thought it was time for a new PC

Gtx 1080 8gb ROG strix
I7 7700k
32GB RAM 3000 speed
1 SSD 500gb
4TB Hard Drive
Corsair TX650M 80plus gold PSU
Asus Z270-P Prime
Corsair H60 120mm Hydro liquid cooler

Won't change anything on this list

I know that 1080 is overkill for 1080p gaming i'll get a new screen maybe next year
But some people say that this setup will Bottleneck in games like Battlefield 1 in 1080p Ultra Settings is it true or not will i be able to run Battlefield 1 or any games in 1080p without stutters or fps drops?

Solution
This will have no bottlenecks and yeah you are making an overkill setup. That build is for 1440p 144hz gaming. Why 32gb RAM? Also, get a better CPU cooler. The 7700k runs hot. Also, why not Asus Z270-A? (little better)

My 7700k + 980ti (about like a gtx 1070), runs BF1 at 1440p Ultra with 90fps average in multiplayer.

Well lots of guys on Youtube are saying that the 1080ti will bottleneck in 1080p because of something with power usage i don't remember what they said but i just thought it was odd because if that's the case then a 1080 should also bottleneck in 1080p but if 1080ti and i7 7700k won't bottleneck in 1080p then i'll buy the 1080ti and get a new 4k screen with higher refresh rate later should i do that or is that just a dumb idea i just want a PC that can play every game maxed out for many years

Update on why they think it will bottleneck: They say that it will bottleneck because it was made for 1440p and 4k gaming which to me sounds stupid i know it was made for that resolution but that doesn't mean it can't play games in 1080p without stutters

^ bottleneck ?? Dirty term & used wrongly 99.9999% of the time.

A 7700k & a gtx 1080 ?? Great pairing , no bottleneck there at all.

If you were going to consider anything a bottleneck then it would be the 1080p 60htz screen you have, simply because I doubt you'll see more than 50% usage on the 1080.

Your build is fine , apart from there is no way on this planet you need 32gb for a gaming rig. Drop it to 16gb & buy a better cooler , the h60 is honestly awful value for money & is outperformed by most decent 120mm tower air coolers

Those retarded youtubers don't know what they are talking about. Don't ever trust youtubers that tell you how gaming works, if they have less than 100k subscribers. Most are idiots and spew misinformation. There are many reputable sites that benchmark games and hardware.

For example, I could have posted a video of me playing PUBG today where I was getting massive drop in fps and constant stuttering. But an hour later I had the opposite. Would you have trusted my initial video? That is one game and one instance....unrealistic of overall.

Get 4k and 108ti and be happy. Stop listening to teenagers youtube videos.

Well as of right now i only have a 1080p 6htz monitor and i really don't care if i can't see more than 60 fps right now but later i'll buy a 4k screen but i don't quite understand what you're saying are you saying that if i only have 60htz screen i'll bottleneck and get stutters or are you saying that it is kind of a bottleneck like you will get smooth performance but you can't see see/feel that 100+ fps because of my refresh rate?

and i don't need to drop the 32gb ram for a better cooler i have enough money to go all out with a gaming PC i just chose 32gb because of how fast 16gb is becoming the normal but if you think i should get another cooler then what cooler do you think i should get is Be Quiet Pure Rock Fullsize good enough or is that also a bad pick

Don't worry i almost don't listen to anything people say on Youtube i was just like wtf when i saw someone say that and i wanted to ask other people on this forum to see if the people on Youtube just were dumb or i was misinformed but i'm glad for all the help you have given me :)

Just a little update to show you what parts i'm looking at right now

GTX 1080 8gb ROG Strix
i7 7700k or i5 7600k
32GB RAM 3000mhz
4TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 6b/s
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD
Corsair TX650M 80+ Gold PSU
Vision Dark Shadow Case 3 120mm fans front and 1 120mm fan in the back
Corsair H60 120mm Water cooling
Asus Z270-P Prime

I know that the i7 7700k can get really hot but i hope that with 4 fans and a "Ok" Cooler i can stay at a ok/good temp when gaming no overclock planned

Well it's hard to find Cryorig in my Country but is Be Quiet Pure Rock Fullsize good enough for the i7 7700k and i don't really need overclock right now but could change in the future if i want to overclock i just buy another Cooler for it

And is the H60 Hydro 120mm Water Cooling really so bad for the i7 7700k when you don't overclock but it looks like it should have a nice temp but i'll try and look at other coolers right now i only have found this Be Quiet Pure Rock Fullsize

Well i can give you a link https://www.mm-vision.dk/visiongaming/Monster-gaming-computer

But they don't have a Dark Rock Pro only Corsair H60 120mm Hydro and Be Quiet Pure Rock Fullsize the website is on Danish so i don't know if you understand it but they will build a PC for me for the a little less than what it costs if i want to build it myself which is the first time i have ever seen that

They give you lots of options what you want in your PC which is great and i can also return the PC and get a new one if it breaks so that is always good

Could also build it myself here is what i have found

MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X
EVGA BQ 650W Hybrid Modular 80+ PSU dunno if that PSU is good
Phanteks Eclipse P400S Class Silent
MSI z270 Tomahawk Arctic Socket-1151
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 32GB
WD Desktop Black 4TB
I7 7700k
CRYORIG H5 Ultimate CPU Cooler
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB 2.5 SSD
And also a new screen AOC AGON 27" LED FreeSync AG271QX 1440p 144hz but will still use 1080p in some games because the gtx 1080 won't get 144fps in all games max settings in 1440p

I can build a PC but i just hate using time on it because of cable management

Comments on your new parts list.
1. Get a better quality EVGA psu. The BQ is lower end. If EVGA, go for G2 or G3. However, the original Corsair TX or RM are great too.
2. That AOC monitor has FreeSync, which is something only AMD GPUs can take advantage of. So, by getting a Nvidia GPU you won't be able to take advantage of that great feature, FreeSync. SO, consider getting a Gsync monitor to go with your gtx 1080. It will be more expensive though.

Otherwise build is very good.

Ok i think i'll be getting the Corsair RM650X and 1080ti instead of the 1080 thank you so much for all the help you have given me

Will get a 4k monitor with time but i hope i won't face any problems right now with a 1080p 144hz or 1440p 144hz monitor as i want no stutter i want to be total lag free but last question do you know what temp i can expect from the Cryorig H5 paired with the i7 7700k because i don't want it to overheat it's a really expensive CPU will also try and see if i can find any screens i like with Gsync and 4k i just don't know if there is 4k screens with Gsync but that doesn't really matter right now as i'm stuck with 1080p 144h and later i will upgrade to a better monitor

I have no plans for overclocking as of right now and i don't think the CPU needs it since it is already a really powerful CPU but thank you so much for the help :) you have the same Cooler or is Cryorig H5 and Cryorig H5 Ultimate not the same what temp do you get most of the time when gaming?

Update i can see that the Cryorig H5 Ultimate is around 61-63 on full load says lots of people but i hope it's true but you never know if it is because they could be testing it on smaller games or have more fans installed in their case

I have more or less the same CPU cooler. At stock, don't worry about temps. I'd suggest the H5 Ultimate since RAM clearance with 2 DIMMs isn't an issue. You can overclock with it, but I'm in the same boat....I don't want a big overclock unless I have tons of cooling and I have no need for it now.

I would suspect with good case cooling and the H5 ultimate you would get near those temps although I think they would be closer to 70C. I had to delid my 7700k to make temps drop. Afterwards, in extreme gaming or testing, temps dropped by 10C. And idle by around 15C. Case design matters and ambient temps. My case is so so for airflow. And I have a 25C ambient temp with AC on.

Ok 70c is fine for me if i get that temp on full load but i really don't want to delid the i7 7700k because there is a chance that i will break it but i think the case will come with 1 fan so i think i should take 1 or 2 from my old PC just to be sure that it is enough

OMG keep seeing people say 1080ti and i7 7700k will bottleneck if you play on 1080p "Low Resolution" and some say it wont and some say it will but if you overclock the i7 7700k it won't i'm getting confused have never in my life heard that you can bottleneck if you use lower Resolution i'm just afraid of getting stutters and drops when gaming in 1080p until i get a better screen so shit like this really annoys me and if what they are saying is true then will it help just to cap the fps in games to like 120 fps so stop the bottleneck until i get a new monitor

Can see that in some games the i7 7700k and gtx 1080ti will give some stutters in some games in 1080p which i hope i can fix with capping the fps to something like 120 or something because as of right now i can only play 1080p for some time until i can upgrade to a 1440p or 4k monitor

My old pc has 3 fans i just take 1 and give my old pc to my brother because his PC broke i think a good cooler like Cryorig H5 Ultimate and 2 case fans should be enough to cool down my new PC and found a G sync screen

AOC 24" LED G-Sync g2460Pg it's only 1080p 144hz but the 1080 or 1080ti won't hit 144fps in most games but i think i'll stay at 1080p for some time just to be safe because newer games seems like they will need something like 1070 to run max settings which is insane but what do you think about the screen i found

Ok i'll go with the gtx 1080 and the Gsync screen then i can stop worrying that the 1080ti in 1080p will have a some sort of stutter or lag in 1080p i can see that problem will i only get with the 1080ti if i play CPU intensive games like Battlefield 1 because if you use a high end card meant for another resolution and you play on a lower res just to get more FPS then it can stress out the CPU which is really bad in CPU intensive games - said by lots of guys on tomhardware forum i found lots of people saying this and then i saw lots of benchmarks with the 1080ti in 1080p and it had a small "CPU speed limit" aka Bottleneck in some games which made the games stutter
