Hi guys Im looking into doing a new build. I'm stuck on my FX 6350 and im just dreading through games its such a bottleneck on my R9 390x its so close to almost killing me i need new ram and almost everything i already have a case but i need a new CPU/MOBO and i checked the prices on almost everything and where i live (New York) The I7 5820k is the same price as the I7 4790k i have a Cosair H110Gt so cooling is not a problem and i just checked microcenter.com and DDR4 and DDR3 are the same price (5$) Difference But im in the mix of picking the i7 4790k or the I7 5820k i have 2 1080p monitors and i dont plan to upgrade them for a year or two until 4k becomes more available. I pretty much do gaming/ photoshop/ other multitasking so which CPU do you guys recommend I have a slim budget but i dont want to be kicking myself in the ass if i pick the I7 4790k any help is greatly appreciated thank you guys so much!

Both processors would almost be overkill for gaming but the i7-4790k is a bit better than the 5820k for that. Ones a 4-core, ones a 6-core, so if you have programs that are heavily multi threaded then go with 5820k. My recommendation though is getting the i7-6700k as it edges out the 4790k for gaming and other things, and the box looks cooler :)
