New build for GNU/Linux distros (Arch Linux)

Hi all!

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought here would be a safe bet!

I've just finished university and I've decided that now is the time to make new build. My main concern is that I've never made a build before with a GNU/Linux distro as the primary OS, so I am not sure if there is still any hardware out there with notoriously bad support for running on gnu/linux distros.

Is there anything there that you'd recommend me to change or anything that is well known for being poorly supported on Arch, Manjaro etc?

Yeah. I'm not too concerned about being able to max out games etc, I'd just like to achieve a decent fps at 1080p. I'm not a video editor or anything like that. I'm mainly looking for a build that i'll be able to play some games on and that will be quite futureproof for the next few years.

Yes, i understand, i'm studing and have same specs like you, my current system is Windows/Linux.

My recommendation is i5 6500, B* or H* mobos, 8gb ram DDR4, 500W from a good PSU (CX are not good at this time) i recommend EVGA Supernova B2, Seasonic or XFX ProSeries, same range of wattage.

About games, depends, at today i'm playing with iGPU (Intel 4600 Series), but, you can pick an 960 like you said, or wait for the newest generation of cards.
