Question New Build, GPU won’t turn on

Hello,

I’m working on my first PC build and finally got my graphics card today. After assembling everything the case/CPU fans and lights started but the GPUs did not. I was unable to get an image from HDMI into the GPU but was able to get a picture from MOBO HDMI.

Build:
Ryzen 7 7700x
MSI Trio 4090
Corsair 850W SHIFT PSU
MSI Pro B650-P MOBO

I have since updated my BIOS and installed windows but the GPU is not recognized and the fans are not spinning. I’ve tried remounting it several times and tried another PCIE slot but nothing. I definitely heard the click when I inset the card.

Am I missing something obvious here? To my understanding these PSU cables should work.

Thanks

Your current GPU requires a single 16-pin PCIe connector, or you have a different MSI model ? Does your PSU support this cable ? If not, then you would be required to buy a compatible adapter or a PSU.

Yes I am using this https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-...LhhGJN50VfD8XiWu0s8kpdYIR3CifLW8aAq50EALw_wcB

However, after some tinkering I’m beginning to think that the PCI and my card are not fully engaged. Forgive my ignorance but should I be seeing some or the gold colored pins still if it’s fully plugged in? My case may be the issue here as the 3 prongs that come off the card seem to stop it from going further down.
