New Build I am doing

Hi, I am doing a new PC build that I can use for LAN Partys incase either a friend can't bring one.

Specs:

Case: Coolermaster Haf 935 stacker - I'll split the builds into build one and build two.

Build 1
Motherboard: Gigabyte X-99 Gaming 5
RAM: Corsair 16GB DDR4 RAM
GPU: 2x GTX 770 Zotac AMP edition
Proccesor: I-7 5820k
Cooled by a Corsair H55
HDD: 2 x 2tb WD Green
SSD: 1x Kingston 120GB
Power Supply: Corsair RM1000
Standard Disk Drive

Build 2
Motherboard: Asus H81I-PLUS
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB
GPU: Asus Direct CU-2 GTX 760
CPU: I-7 4770k
Cooled by stock cooler (Not overclocking)
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1tb
SSD: 60gb Kingston Cache
Power Supply: EVGA 600w PSU

What do you guys think?

Some things cannot be changed:

2x GTX 770
I-7 4770k
16GB Corsair Vengeance


PS I know this is wayyyy overkill for what i do, but I like doing this type of stuff. I have the money to upgrade parts, so I want to do some beast stuff

If this is for just Lan parties build I would for a hybrid of both builds. The Motherboard and CPU of Build 2 is just fine, but i would have a GTX 770 in there and a larger SSD, 60GB isn't enough. I would get a Cooler master Hyper 212 Evo instead of the stock one.

And build 2 is kinda meant to be weaker than build 1 based on specs, but it's a backup PC.

What about an AMD option for build 2? I'm all ears.

Just checked that the Hyper 212 evo doesn't fit in the coolermaster 915R

I think I get what you are trying to do (actually one of the few times the HAF Stacker makes much sense) but I'm a bit unclear on some things.

1) Are you trying to game at 7680*1440? That's an awful lot of pixels to fill, more so than two GTX770s can handle if you want to run high end games at decent settings.

2) Why 16Gb of ram and i7s (of different types obviously) for both builds? Generally, neither of those things have benefits over their cheaper alternatives, especially given you seem a bit light on graphics.

3) Why a 600W PSU in build 2?

4) Why a K-series i7 in a H81 board? (Might make sense if you already own the 4770K)

5) Why a H55? It's not great from a price/performance perspective, and given the incredibly expensive i7+mobo+memory, it seems a little on the cheap side.

I'll make it clear why build 1 is sooo much more powerful than build 2:

Build 1 is going to be my own personal rig. I want it to be more powerful than build 2 with it's parts

Build 2 is there because I can use it as a little pc if I need, (Since I can split the little ITX case off and take it around) and also there if a friend needs a PC to use while, say at a convention, or LAN party.

I will only be gaming on 2 of the 3 max screens at once as I can't play games in surround without it straining my eyes after 20 mins or so.
The reason why I have those monitors is because I could get a deal from a local retailer which basically allowed me to get 3 for 1.

The H55 can be upgraded if necessary, but I won't be over clocking the system much yet, as I don't need to.

The 600 watt PSU I beleive (correct me if wrong, I'll get it swapped) is fine for the build 2.

I am putting a K series into the H81 series MOBO because I already have it.

Some parts in both builds I already have and just want to re use.

The 280X WILL be good, it WILL beat the 760, but get a 290 if you can afford it, it's about 30-50$ more expensive.

In addition to the H55, which seems like a poor match for a LGA2011-3 CPU, I'd also query the RM1000. It's not the worst PSU on the market, but there are far better models, usually at a cheaper pricetag.

For your second build if it's about reusing the CPU then it makes more sense, though if I were you I'd be tempted to grab a Z97 board anyway for the additional features and the flexibility to overclock if you feel like it.
You don't need a 600W PSU for that build, and the 600W EVGAs aren't terribly good unless you are really struggling for cash. I'd go with a better quality ~500W unit.

Okay, changed some stuff around. I understand build 1 may sound like poor value, but I'm not worried about value at the moment. But I changed some stuff around

Swapped h55 to h100i
Swapped GTX 760 for a R9 280x

Swapped Corsair 1000w to a cooler master GM 1000
Swapped Corsair 650w to a Coolermaster G 600

Your best options will depend partly on where you live (not all models are available worldwide) and on how much you want to spend.

The value comments are really just because I don't understand your goals. Personally if I had three 1440P monitors (or even one, if that's all you are likely to be using - not many games are suitable for dual monitor gaming) I'd be far more concerned about graphics than I would be about CPU/memory.

What PSUs do you reccomend for price to performance? I live in UK Mainland
Swapping out the standard h100i fans with some quiet fans.
I'll stick with the 280x as I probably won't be able to use the mini itx lan pc on a gsync anyway.

For GTX770 SLI, I'd suggest-
XFX 750/850 BEFX, Superflower Leadex Gold 750/850, EVGA Supernova 750/850 G2
You don't need a 1000W for that setup, 750W will suffice, 850W is sensible overkill.

For a 280X, I'd suggest (assuming you want something cheap and no-nonsense) -
Basically any Antec/XFX/Seasonic 500-650W. A basic £47 XFX is all you need to spend, but if you fancy modular cables and/or a better efficiency rating you can easily spend more. There's a load of options.
