New build i5 3570k Oc temp issues

Okay guys i just built this system 3 days ago. ( first build ever )

Mobo: Asus z77 v-pro
CPU: i5 3570k
Cooler: CM hyper 212 evo with stock fan in push
Case: CM haf X blue Edition
Case fans: 1 front intake, 1 side intake, 1 rear exhaust and 1 top exhaust
SSD: samsung 830
HDD: barracuda 2tb
GPU: GTX 580
Optical: Asus cdrw
PAste: AS5
I just reseated my cooler tonight because i was getting high temps running prime 95 @ 4.5ghz high temps being in the 80's

I didnt spread the paste the first time, so anyway, i reapplied the paste using an old credit card creating a very thin layer over the cpu with about an 1/8 inch border around all the edges

idle temps are as follows: 24,37,33,24 ( also not sure why such a difference between cores 1,4 and 2,3 )

Oc at 4ghz under prime 95 - temps are 58,65,67,58

Oc at 4.5ghz under prime 95 large ffts temps are 78,83,83,79

these temps seem high to me and even my computer sends me a warning,

im not sure what ive done wrong seating the cooler or applying paste, any help is welcomed, and if you need moreinfo just let me know, again, this is my first pc build ever

Because ivybridge IHS is thermal paste. In a nutshell IB will run 20C hotter than SB, so 4.2ghz is about the max on the 212 evo.

I have 3570k, haf x, and 212 evo. I run at 4.5 also. My idles are >20C. I put the paste on as an X with Artic silver 5. After watching some videos on youtube, you see spreading paste with a card will cause air bubbles reducing surface area of heat sink causing higher temps. prime95 max temp will be >75 and intel burn >85. but during normal use with intense games i only hit 60.

It is generally a bad idea to manually spread heatsink paste on the die. This leaves many chances for channels and pits for air to get trapped between the CPU and the heatsink. The most effective method is just applying blob in the center and mashing it down with the heatsink, wiping off any overflow after it is down. Alternate pressure in multiple directions without lifting the heatsink as you press down and it should spread it with as little air as possible stuck in the paste.
