[SOLVED] New Build, Keyboard "F2" or "DEL" Won't Register

Hello, thank you in advance for helping.

I finished putting my new PC together a few days ago, but when I powered it on and got to a screen telling me to press F2 or DEL, they wouldn't register and I was stuck on that screen despite my keyboard having power.

I tried every single USB port, tried a second keyboard, removed the CMOS battery waited 10 minutes and reinserted it, and now even replaced the motherboard... but I'm still having the same exact issue. I'm starting to go crazy and considering just bringing my PC into a shop to have someone diagnose the problem.

One thing that might be noteworthy is how my keyboard only lights up if it's plugged in before turning the computer on. If I disconnect it and reconnect it, it won't have power. And if I plug it in after the computer is already on, it also won't have power. Everything plugged in gets power just fine, though. All fans run and LEDs work just fine, too.

Any advice or help will be much appreciated before I go ahead and bring it in for help. I have followed every step to a T.

solution: take out the M.2 drive so you can get into BIOS, go into the advanced menu and look for the EZ BIOS FLASH 3 tool. Upgrade your BIOS to the latest version either by downloading it from the web within the BIOS or downloading it to a USB from another computer and installing it from there. Then once you have the latest BIOS installed it should recognise the NVME M.2 SSD Drive (in my case a western digital blue). Now you can turn off the computer, install the drive and plug in your bootable USB for windows or whatever OS you install and go back to BIOS to select the boot order to start with the USB drive (or CD i guess if you are using that) and you're done. It should then boot into the installer.

i have the same issue with basically the same specs but i have the Asus 570 Prime. interested to hear how you solved it. I think it's not recognising my keyboard but I've tried 2 keyboards now and don't have any more... (Razer blackwidow and logitech g15). Tried re-seating everything, clearing CMOS, one stick of ram.. going to go to the computer shop where i bought the kit from and see if they can help.
