Well, I would drop the 2600k in favor of 2500k. You won't be using the HT technology in the 2600k.

I would then upgrade the GPU to a 6950 with the money saved.

Get this mobo instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128502&cm_re=gigabyte_z68-_-13-128-502-_-Product

Don't get a 10k drive. The Spinpoint F3's are nearly as fast, and you can get 2 1TB drives for the price of that one drive. You need AT LEAST 500GB for fraps.

Lastly, swap the PSU for this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371026&cm_re=antec_750w-_-17-371-026-_-Product

Then you have a pretty sweet build. What case are you gonna get?

Thanks for the info. I made some changes not sure about the mobo or which graphic card is the best out of the 68-6900 series. I want something that will last a bit past bf3. if possible.

Looks excellent! Only a few more things I would change.

-Switch to the i5-2500k. It's overclockable, and costs only $10 more. The 2500 non K cannot be overclocked.

-Get home premium OEM. No reason for ultimate really.

If you can stretch, a 6950 would be an excellent card. The 6970 is the best, but the 6950 is great and a really good buy.

What kinda case are you looking at?

- And lastly, get the Hyper 212+ from amazon and save a cool $20.

^I like just about everything about these suggestions. 2500K, Home Premium, 6950.
You could also get a Xigmatek cooler for $25 or $30. In the latest $2000 build, it worked quite well with a 2600K, so you would be fine.
You definitely don't need a PSU with that much power. A 500W would be fine, if it was a decent model like this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027&Tpk=corsair%20500
I'm basing that assertion on this chart, which puts the 6950's max power consumption at 256 W (add 125 for CPU and you have 170 or so for spare parts):
