Iam preparing for my first computer build using. Atx Tower case, Asus M5A78LUSB3 motherboard,AMD Athlon 2X2 280 Processor, memory cards, etc etc including keyboard/mouse.
I feel quite confident re building the unit and making all cable connections, However I am a little concerned about the last bit ie powering up. As I understand it seems that when I am satisfied everything is done I switch on let things settle then install the windows 7 o/s follow all instructions through etc.
I am assuming the mother board support cd is for making any adjustments considered necessary after installation of the operating system.
Can anyone confirm my understanding or offer any additional Tips?

Thanks IRONBATMAN Just one last question.
With regard to the CDs that come with the drivers I assume these will be installed after installation of the o/s windows 7

yes. Once you have fully installed Windows 7 , insert all disks that have the word Drivers on them. There should be an option to run " autoplay " or something , if not , go to the CD from Libraries , click the CD icon , and then there should be an application file , run that

do remember to install the latest drivers on the manufacturer's website. and also pick the most helpful comment as the solution so that you can close the thread and thank the person who has helped you. same applies to all other threads
