Question New Build was working fine, now shuts down

I'm trying to help a friend with her PC over the phone. It is a new built gaming PC. I was able to help her get the OS installed and everything seemed to be fine last night she was downloading everything nothing seemed to be off. But today she woke up to power it on and it would shut down after typing in her log in password. the mother board would still light up but the fans stop spinning and would lose display connection. I tired to get her to boot in safe mode and it shut down a few seconds after clicking advanced options to get into safe mode. now it will just shut off a few seconds of turning it on. It sounds like a power supply issue to me but i was wondering if any had any other tips.
