New build, XP installation issues

Hello all!

I'm building my first system from scratch, and have done fine up until the XP installation. This is by far the first XP installation I've done, so thought it would be a breeze. Not turning out that way.

It runs like normal until it gets to the part where it restarts and is supposed to resume/complete the installation. When it boots back up, it goes right back to the original Setup screen (Enter for setup, R for repair, etc). I've tried re-installing numerous times, no luck.

Specs:
C2D 2.4
AsRock 4coredual-sata2-VSTA mobo
2x1GB Kingston DDR2
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GT
old Quantum hard drive that I pirated from another (working) computer

Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Are you getting the "Press any key to boot from CD..." message? And if so, are you pressing anything on the keyboard?

did you leave the disk in the CD, it's a bootable and if the boot order is cd before the HD, all it does is restart, please remove the cd at reboot

That HDD will work fine as long as you first remove all previous boot records that were on it, did you do that before you tried to install your OP/SYS?
