Hi, i assembled my own computer a couple of days ago and i can't get any display from my monitor. At first, when i turned on my monitor, a bunch of text came up and American megatrend bios. Then it said some errors, like CPU FAN ERROR and KEYBOARD NOT DETECTED i restarted and there was no video.

All i got was 2 short beeps and my monitor which is a samsung syncmaster 701n screen was black and the led keeps flashing slowly.

And yes, i made sure that all the cables were connected, 24 pin, 8 pin, cpu fan, case fan, the other case fan, all the system panel connectors, sata connectors, cpu, ram and everything. Also, all the fans are spinning.

Specs:
CPU: Intel core i5 3570k
Motherboard: Asus p8z77-v lk
Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce gtx 560 ti
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB black
Storage: Toshiba 1TB Hard Drive
PSU: Ultra LSP 650 watt ATX power supply
Optical Drive: Liteon 24x Internal DVD/CD Writer
Keyboard and mice: Logitech Wireless combo
Case: Corsair CC-9011014-WW Carbide Series 300R

two things it could be. one as you got a splash screen and warning that the cpu fan was not plugged in. the mb may be in safe shutdown to save the cpu. make sure the fan connected then clear the cmos and see if you get the post screen again.
the other issue is asus and newer mb have onboard video. there set as main video output. they wont switch like they did in the old days.

1. Check to make sure all cables connected ....
---CPU fan plugged into "CPU fan" header on MoBo ?
---8 pin EPS cable plugged in next to CPU ?
---PCI-E cables connected to GFX Card

2. Is Monitor OSD (on screen display) set to correct input ?

3. Is monitor cable connected to correct output ?

4. Not personally familiar with that MoBo but higher end Asus MoBos have diagnostic cards and / or LED's which if you check status, will provide trouble shooting tips, See manual.
