new comp problems

I know a little bit about computers and so I decided to build one for the family. I got it all assembled and threw the switch and nothing happened except for the cpu fan twitching a bit. I recheck all my connections ATX power, power switch, etc, but still nothing happened. I made sure to periodically ground myself during installation. I checked the power supply on my other computer and it worked. I can't think of anything else. Any help is appreciated

When you say that the cpu fan "twitches," does it really? Is it turning at all?

If it twitches, and your power supply is ok, then the mobo is not right. If the cpu fan does turn, i'd bet the memory is not correct for your system.
