[SOLVED] New computer freezing right after start

I just finished assembling a new computer, at first I had a lot of trouble using my old keyboard and mouse that I normally use for computer troubleshooting but this computer would not detect them. I ended up using my very modern keyboard and mouse which worked just fine.

After getting that figured out I the tried to begin downloading Windows 10 off of a flash drive I have onto the hard drive but now every time I select my boot it freezes within 45 seconds and does not respond to anything. Halp plz.

Specs:
i3 8100
8Gb RAM
GTX 1050Ti
500Gb hard drive
Asrock Z170 mobo
Kingston 128Gb flash drive USB 3.0

Sorry for the impressively late reply, my MOBO did support it the problem is that I bought the MOBO before the CPU even released it did not yet have the appropriate BIOS update for the CPU.

z170 only support 6th or 7th gen cpu.
either you have the motherboard model wrong or the cpu model wrong.

Oh my this thread is older than I thought, this is a different build than I was thinking of. Thanks for the help m8
