I just got a new computer but for some reason it doesnt have the option for me to connect to my wifi, but there instead there is a ethernet symbol and i dont have ethernet. Its a brand new computer so i dont know what i did wrong.

After about 3 hours of searching online and trying many things i just decoded to ask the question myself

Cybertron Electrum QS-A6
AMD
MSI MS-7721 motherboard
16gb Ram
AMD Radeon Graphics

(Sorry about the typo's im switching between a mechanical keyboard and a laptop keyboard and its messing me up)

i tried to install things from my old laptop with a flashdrive but it didnt work and i have no idea if i have a wireless adapter installed, or even what that is

update: my computer doesnt have an optical drive so i cant use the disc that came with it to download the drivers so i attempted to use my old laptop but it didnt work ;-;

You need to go into your adapter settings. Open Network and Sharing Center. Here you have the ability to setup your WiFi.
Change your network settings to setup a new connection. The system should detect your WiFi device.
If you don't have an adapter it won't find one. You can buy a USB Wifi adapter if the modem is WiFi capable. I use a Comfast CF-300NS at 300Mbps and it works fine and only about $25.

This is a prepackaged system so it should come with the drivers already installed. If you didn't select the wireless NIC when you ordered it then you don't have wireless function. If you did and you didn't get it then call customer support and explain the issue and get some help.

You can't install drivers from your notebook on it w/o making things worse. Drivers are based on the chipset on the motherboard and I'm sure the desktop and notebook chipsets are different since one is a desktop and the other is a notebook. You should have an ethernet port on the back so you can run Cat5e cable to your router or modem in the mean time. A direct connection is always better than a wireless anyway. If you still feel you need wireless you can get a Wireless USB adapter and use that to connect or you can try a Powerline Adapter Starter Kit.

i do have an old linksys "Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter" and when i plug it in, it shows i have an internet connection but its saying im not connected to the internet on chrome/steam

update: after looking it up broadband is different than wifi, and its only giving me the option to set up a broadband (PPPoE)
not sure how to access the name my isp gave me or the password, the only usernames/passwords on the router are to login to the wifi

Contact your ISP provider. They will guide you thru the steps for your connection.
If your Modem has WiFi then you can use a USB adapter, otherwise you must connect via an Ethernet port.
Accessing your Modem can be intimidating if you don't know what your doing. Your ISP will guide you.

thank you all for your help ill try this tomorrow but right now im really exhausted and really need some sleep, bye for now

Mean is right contacting your ISP tech support is a wise move they can walk you though all you need to do get your internet access working.

For wired you should be able to connect a cable from your computer to the router. The router should have the IP address setting set to dynamic so it will automatically assign a IP addresses for you. You should be able to click on your browser to be able to surf the internet.

To access the Router wirelessly you need to search for your router signal using the program for your wireless adapter or your windows o/s then enter the password setup in your router for for WEP or WEP2 depending on the version turned on. Then once connected open your browser and surf.
